The PERFECT gift for a basenji!
Had to share this:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/18766649/naughty-dog-tee
I also have a couple other funny ones (like "Bad to the Bone"). I do all the silk-screening by hand. All tees are in VERY limited sizes and it should arrive by Christmas if you live in the U.S. and order by the 18th. Plus 10 bucks is a great price + all the profits are being donated to BRAT! :)
Small and petite basenjis take a size Medium, bigger basenjis take a size Large.
Have a Happy Fantastic Day!

Putting the FUN in Fundraising!
Wow! What an exciting day we had on Sunday! Mr. Calvin Cuddles, my friends Ellen and Kylee (and Kylee's pug Tuffy), and I all went out to Shelburne Museum Goes to the Dogs to raise money and awareness for Basenji Rescue and Transport (BRAT). It was one "wild party" for dogs and their owners and there were so many great things going on! A cowboy parade and costume contest, dog demonstrations, disc dog Vermont state championships. Plus DOZENS upon DOZENS of dog rescue groups and dog-tastic vendors!

OUCH! The senjis have the stumble-bumbles
Calvin and Toni had a stumble-bumble day today...
1. Toni got sooooooo excited when she saw a squirrel this morning that she did a sideways somersault off the ramp and landed on her side. Ouch!
2. Calvin got soooooooo excited to go back in the house (after he chased the squirrel) that in the process of jumping onto the ramp he belly flopped and hurt his "little man part". He then got hit with the door. Ouch! Ouch!
3. Each dog had a bloody paw (most likely due to stumble-bumbles #1 and #2). Triple Ouch!
4. Toni was attacked by an evil green sparkly pipe cleaner. No amount of scratching, rubbing against furniture, and head spinning could dislodge it from her collar. And to make things worse, instead of removing it I took pictures and started calling Toni "Antennae Toni", "Command Center Toni", "A,T,&T-oni", etc.
5. Toni tripped over all her feet on our walk and fell nose first into the pavement. BOOM! Ouch!

Compost Curiosity
"Hmmm... What is this big strange black box?", wondered Calvin.
Toni ran over to see what Calvin was so curious about. "Let's check it out!", Tony said. And they sniffed and sniffed all around the compost bin. "It sure smells funny!", said Calvin as he wrinkled his nose.
"I am gonna dig to see what is inside.", exclaimed Toni.
Toni paused for a moment and said to Calvin, "Well, I am not sure what the heck this weird dirt is so I am gonna taste it to find out." "Me too", said Calvin.
So the 2 little dogs dug at the compost bin and sampled bits of what they found.
TO BE CONTINUED...
(Hopefully NOT at the Vet's office)

Toni, Toni, Toni... Has done it again!
Well, it seems like every time Miss Toni gets in trouble it is food related! That dog is a bottomless pit!!! She managed to open up a plastic container of food and spill it all over my tote bag and car and then happily gobbled it up! Sometimes I think I just need to attach a feedbag to her! ha ha

Acute Mudpuddleitis
It is with great sadness that I must inform you that poor little Toni developed a case of acute mudpuddleitis yesterday. Mudpuddleitis is a very very serious affliction that effects 1 out of 200 basenjis every spring. It is typically brought on when the basenji is on a walk and is not paying attention and falls sideways into a giant mud puddle. Primary symptoms of the disease include the basenji loosing the ability to move any limb that has become covered in mud. Secondary symptoms include the basenji having a stupefied look on their face and/or screaming or pathetic crying. In extreme cases such as Toni's the mud covered hind leg was completely withdrawn into the body and the remaining 3 legs became stiff and she suffered a temporary paralysis.
Treatment: The only known treatment for mudpuddleitis is a combination therapy of generous pets to the back, soft stroking of the ears, and jubilant praise of "good girl!".
Side effects: washing the afflicted basenji will leave a big brown ring around your bathtub.

Calvin Mouths Off!!!
Mr Sunshine was feeling a little defiant and gave me quite a mouthful when it was time to go in the crate. And if you can beleive it this was the tail end of his temper tantrum. I couldn't grab the camera in time for the grand scale screaming attack of the covers! So just multiply his naughtiness and grumbling by 500! ha ha
