The Latest Trend in Basenji Fashion!!!

Here we have Miss Toni Terrific sporting a lovely new trend for Spring!


This look originated in Italy and is called "Stringa Bella del Venetian-Blindo".

And now a word from Calvin...

This month I decided to let Mr. Calvin Cuddles come up with the content for this post. Here is what he would like to share with his fellow basenjis and their slaves.
1. I do not like winter.
2. It was so cold that I thought I lost my paws as I couldn't feel them. I kept looking down to make sure they were still there.
3. Mom makes me wear this stupid fleece turtle neck with polka dots. I HATE IT!!! But she says I cannot go outside without it cause it is very very cold. And I REALLY want to go on my walkies so I have to wear it.

Oh, and I went on a hunger strike and WON!!! I didn't like the boring food mom buys so I decided to stop eating it. I was so hungry and had to live off of crumbs and what I could steal off of plates and the trash. But it worked! Now I got this really good salmon and anchovy kibbles!!! YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not fair!!!

Last night Calvin said to me, "How come if I look at Toni the wrong way she grumbles at me but she can lay on top of me and expects me to be all nice about it??? That is NOT FAIR!!!" Poor little Calvin is learning a few lessons on life and dealing with the ladies!

Pink Swan

Found a pink tutu when I was cleaning out my craft room. Calvin was the lucky dog who was with me when I found it. I have a feeling he doesn't think he was so lucky. But he was tolerant enough to pose for a cute photo to make his mom happy. <3

Putting the FUN in Fundraising!

Wow! What an exciting day we had on Sunday! Mr. Calvin Cuddles, my friends Ellen and Kylee (and Kylee's pug Tuffy), and I all went out to Shelburne Museum Goes to the Dogs to raise money and awareness for Basenji Rescue and Transport (BRAT). It was one "wild party" for dogs and their owners and there were so many great things going on! A cowboy parade and costume contest, dog demonstrations, disc dog Vermont state championships. Plus DOZENS upon DOZENS of dog rescue groups and dog-tastic vendors!

Ellen, Kylee, and Mr. Calvin (the ONLY basenji of the 1,000 dogs at the event)

Someone's getting tired!
